Q: How much do you charge?
A: It varies. What do you want to achieve in the first place?
Q: Don’t you consult me on the cost?
A: We can consult you when you are clear with what you want.
Normally, we ask questions like, what is the revenue of your company, and what percentage of the revenue that you want to spend on your system. This gives you a realistic budget in mind before you draft your plan.
Q: I was told FileMaker is cheaper compared to other database software. That’s why I am here. Is that true?
A: True and not.
Each software has its pros and cons. Excel still can be excellent depends on what you are using it for. Database development is not like buying a hamburger or a bar of chocolate. It’s service orientation. A good system always take longer hours and communication for perfection. No budget doesn’t mean we can’t build any system for you. With budget, both parties know what need to be completed within a framework.
Q: What happen if I find your service not worth the money I spent? Can I get my money back?
A: As we don’t sell product, we are providing services. Both needs to build a mutual understanding before we start any project together. The project will never get going if both parties can’t build a fundamental relationships in the first place.
Q: How should I go about to ask for a quote?
A: We need to have a clear picture what we can provide to our clients. If the things to develop is too vague, we can’t estimate any quote.
Q: You did for other clients before. Why can’t you tell me the range you charge, or your hourly rate?
A: What is important is what you want to do with your database. If we can’t have a clear image from there, it’s very irresponsible to quote any charge.
Q: Give me some idea how we can start to work things out?
A: First tell us what is your problem that you are facing now. Then we figure out a solution for it. Secondly, tell us what you want to achieve. Then we can consult you whether you need us or not. This we don’t charge you. Once you have determined you would like to talk to us, have the questions the below in mind:
- what is the situation of my system now?
- how I want to improve it?
- what will be the aim I want to achieve?
